I remember buying New Mutants #8 in New Jersey. If I recall correctly it was also one of my first back issues. I spent a dollar on the book, a whole .40 higher then the cover price and it was worth it. The cover today is as comical as it was then. Dani has no problem fending three attackers off while Sam is under the spear of a fourth (Magma?). Could his Kentucky charm be getting the best of him, after all his Mom didn't raise him to hit a woman, even one that wants to kill him. Not my nicest 9.8 but not my worse either. I am still trying to find out where I can attach the Golden State Pedigree label but till then I will just mention it here. I love the book and the memory that comes with it.
