At this point before this comic came out I was getting upset at the artwork. I felt Marvel was putting people on the book to keep it going rather then letting it thrive. So here I was handed my comic books from my comic shop proprietor, I was a subscriber, and maybe he knew of my dissatisfaction because there on top of the pile was the nicest cover I had seen in a long time on a title I loved. The detailed lines reminded me of Arthur Adams and I looked at the signatures of McFarlane and Liefeld, and who was Liefeld. I couldn't wait to get home and see the changes inside the book as well, now only if they could get the faces in the upper left hand corner to match the new artist team. OK, so even though Todd did not stay on the book, Liefeld did and he made a run of the New Mutants I haven't enjoyed for a long time.
