When this cover came out and I felt like I was watching Cypher hit Empath, I felt it was a great victory for his Doug's confidence, especially since he never thought he was contributing. I liked the part of the cover that has the gift for literacy logo since it was different (I believe I have mentioned my disdain for the bar code). This cover is not one of my favorites, even with who the artist is(sorry Barry). A lot of what I thought good artwork in comics was the same art that I grew up with (and here I am only a few years older....How mature), I have since changed and look a bit more deeply at the artist but a bad cover is still a bag cover. Wait till I get #51 to mention that. Either way I am glad I have this book in this condition and to also have it part of the Golden State pedigree.
