Owner's Description

1976 10c Action Comics #1 Reprint / with the Sleeping Bag on Reverse. This reprint is 99% of the time always overpriced by all sellers. Asking prices start at $795+for graded and ungraded issues. I waited for a long time to find this sleeping bag issue reasonably priced. Sellers are clueless about its "true" value. These 1976 comics are not worth those high asking prices. Its a key comic to this set. Persistence paid off waiting for the right one and have only seen one other that was semi-close to what I paid for this one since buying it. CGC pop was 33 last time checked....not rare but a scarce issue...difficult to find under a $700 asking price..

1 / 30 / 2018 there are 85 total CGC graded copies of this 1976 Sleeping Bag issue comic, not many have been graded 9.8 since 2015.

UPDATE 2 / 24 / 2019

Damn made an error last update of 1 / 30 /2018, looks like when I entered the total quantity of the CGC 9.8s I used the Safeguard pop census #s at that time which was 85 total 9.8s. Those are now 111, so that has increased by 26 comics, whereas the 10c issued price with sleeping bag reverse is @ 42. So not positive how many more 9.8s in just over a year have been graded 9.8. I am sure it is very few if any. Wish I would have entered the correct amount. Still, 42 copies since CGC has been encapsulating comics is a very low quantity. Not 100% positive but I remember there being 35 9.8s about 3 - 4 years ago. The Safeguard issue CGC pop census has over twice as many grading 9.8. This sleeping bag comic prices are still @ $795 + on the low side with most sellers asking over $1000 each. Right now there is a 9.8 sleeping bag issue 2 / 24 / 2019 that is on eBay for $485. Very reasonable IMO, it was listed about 4 weeks ago @ $600 with no sale, then lowered to $550, also a no sale now is at $485. Has 29 days to go in the auction, I would be surprised if it still is a no sale at the end of the auction. Thinking of making the purchase myself for an additional copy for this set, buy low $$$ available makes that decision iffy. Hard to pass this one up...these do just not come up at these lower prices and I have been looking for years. Crazy but thinking of justifying the addition to the set using the old case for this copy and new case if I decide to buy the one now listed on eBAY.
