Alex Ross beautiful cover. 1st Harley Quinn in DC continuity. This cover has been portrayed in the likes of the movie "Suicide Squad"; it is more iconic than any other Harley Quinn pose with the Joker in my Opinion. I enjoyed the black background that polarizes the characters! I wanted this from the moment I saw it! It has a statue crafted by Alex Ross that is a match to the cover. This story starts the madness relationship between the 2 "villains" at the time and means that I can have something that is a part of History! Keeping the relationship going from the psychotic villain of old, like the Joker, and transitioning to the modern-day relation is tough to keep down the line. Sometimes even fictional comic book characters seem to grow and evolve with the news of the day. Rest assured there are still villains, so to speak, out there! Who knows how long a rehab effect can have, unless the willing stay determined and vigilant. Instead of becoming vigilantes!
In short, too good a back cover picture to replace with something else, it is good all on its own!

Newsstand Alert. "Wanna get nuts?!? Let's get nuts!?!" Classic line in the original Batman film, with everyone's favorite Jack Nicholson as Joker. Wraparound Cover! Newsstand! Some serious look back in reflection as the 80's to 90's were different times. Tim Burton was making a name for himself, and EVERYONE lined up for the Batman! Awesome movie that spirited comics and movie goers alike. Warm up the car Alfred! The main thing I remember were the Diet Coke commercials that used Alfred fetching one that was still cold, as the Batmobile pulled up and a weary super-hero was thirsty! Ha! Those commercials were everywhere and indeed aired during any network show, and on every channel as well. I even believe the ad spot on the VHS tape had the commercial before the movie started when rented from Blockbuster. Alfred mainly delivering refreshments to the thirsty!
A wraparound cover, so it stands on its own as very well presentable all by itself!

A Sobering Experience, in that This Is the "No Joke Prize!" Joker cripples Barbara Gordon (Batgirl). Embossed cover. Indeed, it's been the start of the jokes that have kept the Joker moving at a brisk pace, and yet, here he is with his wits. All wrapped in a bow to give to the Batman and Commissioner Gordon. Barbara has had an initial Punchline, and by now we can see how there may be a future to revel in. It started here in distribution, then a writer wrote a prelude in the brave and the bold that I own a newsstand of, the Punchline. Will it be another DC Knockout? It is reminiscent to the times, in that the Joker has the choice to evolve, and yet no one is holding his intentions hostage. Monkeys see is the monkey due, as in the "joke" has the chance to survive in the end. We may all have an expected end, but looking for it doesn't seem too always be for the initiated. Keep up the paragraph reading, these tales have yet to be circumvented!
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen pass before released to theaters of, "The Happy Time Murders!" Much like the maniacal Joker, detectives everywhere are wondering what puppet masters caused all this need for extra protection among the inhabitants! We need a shot at justice!

Nice 1st Bane. A Half Price Books find and of course I had their coupon. After sending it for grading it played on me whether it was a good purchase, but with that cover and villain I deemed it worth it! Bane is the existence of the Bats, the evil that can take a toll in brute force. Sometimes people take that personally. I love Bane, and although the movies never seemed, in my opinion, to do him justice, the animated series more than got it right and fed off the comics very well. Those stories, although mostly splashes and fight scenes, were a fun read and made it personable to the character of "The Batman!" A pressable defect to be sure! Bane is seen as smart sometimes, and sometimes the brute mentality wins over. Serum can have that effect on people, and people's views of the overly muscular is a trait that is sometimes cliche!
Complete with a back cover picture of the Batman issue, where Bane breaks the Bat's Back! A Newsstand back breaker of an issue but picked up at an estate sale to read! I had to come away with something, even for $2, and it is sequential art inside to describe the horrendous taming! Not to mince words, it is only the thoughts written to read, as Batman calculates attack moves, but only to prove himself defenseless.
Grader Notes;
light bend full left of back cover.
