The Ghost in the Shell



Cyberpunk royalty of the highest order. Along with Blade Runner (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?) and whatever your favorite happens to be, this completes the holy trinity.

These books - done beautifully in watercolors by master mangaka Masamune Shirow - about a woman with a human brain ensconced in a top of the line, military grade, drop-dead-gorgeous robotic shell spawned one of the greatest anime films of all time, two wonderful anime series, a visually stunning live-action movie, as well as countless other media, and they're some of my absolute favorites.

This particular copy of Ghost in the Shell #1 was the first graded comic I ever purchased. Ghost in the Shell was the first set I completed, and this set is the first I've managed to assemble in straight 9.8's. A number of the books were part of my first CGC submission, and it was a lot of fun tracking down the rest and upgrading over the next couple of years. Now all I need is to find some worthy of golden numbers.
