I bought my first X-men off the rack with issue 136. Issues 138, 139, 140, 141, and 142 portrayed here are from my personal collection, purchased in Weingarten's grocery store, when I was 15, back in the day. Enjoy!

My goal is to complete a high-grade set (I'd like to say "Ultra-high grade," but alas, the key books preclude that option)!

Another Claremont/Byrne/Austin classic, with a Cockrum/Austin cover.

First full appearance of Alpha Flight, and a John Byrne cameo!

COMIC particulars: Well-centered, perfect color alignment, and ZERO cover translucency. Multiple noticeable spine stress lines that do not break color, so I guess they were allowed. Looks like the book has not been pressed--or if it was, it was a quick press without any spine work whatsoever.
