I thought it would be fun to add the first Locke & Key preview in the reverse gallery slot. This one is Doctor Who Classics #2 which is actually the first time we were introduced to characters in the Locke & Key universe. It should be noted the first three preview books contained the spelling error "councilor" in them before being corrected a few weeks later in Angel: After The Fall #3. This book was released on January 1, 2008 with an estimated print run of 7,229 copies.

Two teenagers invade the Locke family's summer home, killing the father in the process, causing them to relocate to his brother's gothic New England mansion known as Keyhouse, which in turn holds a few supernatural secrets of it's own. This comic was signed in marker on the front cover saying "Best, Joe Hill 2-4-08". This was a special incentive for orders exceeding twenty five on the #1 regular comics as opposed to a regular copy of the comic that was taken to a convention and signed. That is why there is a gold foil sticker with the words "Signed Edition" on the cover. This book was released on February 20, 2008 with an estimated print run of 302 copies.

I thought it would be fun to add the second Locke & Key preview in the reverse gallery slot. This one is Cory Doctorow's Futuristic Tales of the Here & Now #4 which is actually the second time we were introduced to characters in the Locke & Key universe. It should be noted the first three preview books contained the spelling error "councilor" in them before being corrected a few weeks later in Angel: After The Fall #3. Welcome To Lovecraft Chapter Four. Written by Joe Hill. Illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez. Sam's tragic origin and Tyler Locke's grim connection to him is explored further, as he makes his way closer to Lovecraft. This book was released on May 14, 2008 with an estimated print run of 8,544 copies.
Here is a little Locke & Key oddity that came out a couple weeks after the original #4 first print in the reverse gallery shot. At first glance, everything looks the same, but upon further examination these are two differently constructed books. Often, it's thought to be a "Second Print" edition, but it is not as it shares the same barcode as the 1st print and reads "First Print" in the indicia. Characteristics of this comic that are diferent from the original 1st print are different staple placement, a top bent staple, a lighter background and thinner in construction.

This book was released on January 14, 2009 with an estimated print run of 1,000 copies. Special thanks to Ralph, the Jetpack Comics owner for helping me get this book.
