Set Description
Hello and welcome to: Sketch on cover ( Custom set ).
Thanks for looking.

The first time, I ever saw a blank comic book cover, I remember thinking: "that´s silly. How can anyone ever get a drawing ( that looks cool ) on that?"
And then many years later, I attended SDCC 2012 and saw all the artists on artist alley, and I finally understood the concept.

Just want to mention here, that I am from Denmark, Europe, and Danmark is actually a very good comic book country ( our size taking into account ), but we don´t have many conventions and we don´t have the CGC system ( yet ).

Anyway, the goal with this set here, is just to collect some awesome looking drawings from some of the artists, that I like. The grade on these, are less important ( sorry CGC ).

Enjoy your comics :)
Best regards - Sage121

Signed & sketch by Jae Lee on 2/14/17 ( with Black watercolor and Grey, thick pencil ( I think ) ).

Owners note:
This sketch of "classic" Spider-man by Jae Lee is just awesome !
I absolut love the perfect balance Spider-man have on this cover, but knowing Jae Lee´s work and his ability to make the impossible look so easy, It comes as no surprise, that he can pull that off.
Very impressive ! And very cool :)

Enjoy your comics :)

Red Star sketch by Christian Gossett. Red Star 6 Signature 9.4 Christian Gossett story and art.
Publ. March 2001.

Red Foil Edition.

Signed & sketch by Christian Gossett on 3/2/03 ( with Black marker and pencil ).

Owners note:
This sketch portraits the character Makita, the young freedom fighter from Nokgorka, the later becomes a major character in the storyline.
We see her the first time, at the very end of issue 4, but issue 6 ( this issue ) is where she is fully introduced.

If you like Science Fiction mixed with Fantasy, this series might be something for you.
This series is inspired by Russia, but please don´t make the mistake, that this is red propaganda or something...!
Despite the title, it is nothing of the sort !

By the way: Christian Gossett, who created, wrote and made all artwork for this series ( except coloring ), is perhaps best known for designing the dual-bladed lightsaber swung by Death Maul in Star Wars Episode 1.

Enjoy your comics :)

Savage Dragon & Hellboy sketch by Erik Larsen. Savage Dragon 200 Signature 9.8 Larsen, Higginbotham & Carlson stories.
Larsen, Trimpe, Frenz, James, Burnham, Sengaus, Koutsis & Fosco art.
Publ. December 2014.

Sketch Edition. Partial blank cover.

Signed & sketch by Erik Larsen on 10/7/16 ( with Black marker ).

Owners note:

Picture 1)
I meet Erik Larsen the first time at New York Comic Con 2014. Being a long time fan of both Savage Dragon and Hellboy, I asked him to make this commission as a homage to the Savage Dragon / Hellboy team-up that took place way back in Savage Dragon # 34-35. I think the result is awesome! The commission measures 17,2" x 11,2" ( 43 x 28 cm ).

Picture 2)
When Savage Dragon #200 was released with a blank cover variant, a plan took shape in my mind. So at New York Comic Con 2016 I got Erik Larsen to repeat the homage to the Savage Dragon / Hellboy team-up, but this time more as busts, instead of close-ups. This is the first sketch cover in my CGC Collection, and I am very happy with the result.

Thank you Erik, for making Savage Dragon.

Enjoy your comics :)

Owners note:
I meet Dan Veesenmeyer on NYCC 2016. He is a very nice guy, and I had a long talk with him.
I like LEGO bricks, so I thought it would be fun, to have a commission of Savage Dragon as a LEGO Minifigure.
Turned out great :)
Thanks a lot, Dan :)

And thank you Erik, for making Savage Dragon.

Enjoy your comics :)
