I made a goal that over the next two years to knock out the remainder of the old crowd to have one book each signed by them. For Jim Shooter, it was the first appearance of Parasite. Growing up in my teenage years there was a secondhand book store that opened up in town that sold old copies of various superman comics from the 60's - 80's. I focused more on the 70's and 80's due to prices and allowance but there were a few copies of Parasite in that lot.
The only problem, I didn't own a copy of Action Comics 340 and kept loosing auctions for it close to the deadline for submitting books to Rich Henn for Mega Con Orlando 2023. I went to MyComicShop.com and bought a non-pictured book that said it was a 3.5 for $60. Normally, they are pretty strict graders but I knew getting the book there was noway it was a 3.5.
Jim Shooter signed and it came back a 5.0 so I really lucked out! You win some and you loose some.

As a lizard fan, this is a necessity in the run. My original copy was purchased at Comic on the Green during a Scranton Comic Show. That original copy had been sold June 2021 due to life issues at the time to Comics on the Green. Slowly, I have been buying back the issues I had sold. This copy was purchased at Comics on the Green in 2022.
Roy Thomas was at a very small comic show in Wayne NJ, with a facilitator available. New Jersey Collectorfest. Basically, a inside flea market type atmosphere with a couple minor celebrities or artist each show. Normally not the type you would see CGC at but given the fact it was Roy Thomas, he seems to have a following of facilitators following him.
I also got a 0.5 at the show graded through him and my coverless raw copy signed just to keep as a reader.

Had to wait 2 1/2 hours at the CGC booth just to crack open the slab. Got stuck behind a guy that had 200 books ahead of me. He would later be a CGC facilitator.

Little wolverine head sketch.
This was purchased off of eBay shortly after Herb's death. It was being sold by his agent on behalf of Herb's wife. He stated the books he was selling had been Herb's personal books that he remarqued and CGC'd because he had so may requests at conventions and figured it be easier to sell them at his booth. I was going to see him at his last show in New Jersey but it was a near blizzard in PA and he sadly had a heart attack that weekend.

Purchased from Comics on the Green's back wall for the purpose of a Roy Thomas convention signing. New Jersey Collectorfest as small comic show in Wayne NJ that has the vibe of a indoor flea market with a very small section of artist/minor celebrities that helps make it a "show".
CGC facilitator was present so got it done. Roy shared that this story was the first time he worked with Spiderman.
