Set Description
This set comprises the following cents copies of Avengers #1 1963 :
0122868014 : 4.5 with cream to off-white pages
1303887001 : 5.0 with off-white pages
1042749001 : 6.5 with off-white pages
As to the 6.5 copy please see my attached Owner's Description and photos of it taken from my "Avengers #1-#503 in the U.K." set.
As to the 5.0 copy I purchased it as a raw comic from Orbital Comics in London in January 2007 for £400 in their 20% off sale, so the price was reduced from £500. The sale was not due to start until the following week but they let me buy it early as a "regular customer". I had it slabbed by CGC in March 2015.
As to the 4.5 copy I purchased it from Reed Comics in the UK for £330 in July 2008. Although it was a lower grade than I would have preferred to have, my Avengers set was growing well and I wanted to make sure that I had a copy of the comic. At the time the comic in any grade was not in demand at all, and I was pleased to get a £20 price reduction plus free postage and packing when I bought it.
Set Goals
I would like to acquire a U.K. Price Variant copy to add to my collection and this set.
They are difficult to find and the only ones that I have come across are very low grade raw copies.
