After a brief taste in X-Men Annual 14, we finally get our first full on dose of the card charging, smooth talking, Cajun sensation Gambit, starring in the aptly named "Enter the Mutant Called Gambit"! Where will his adventures with an uncharacteristically young Storm lead? We'll have to read the book to find out!
Gambit is yet another of the X-Men holding a special place in my comic heart due to his prominence in the X-Men cartoons. Always zinging people with one liners and hitting people with his staff and throwing exploding playing cards at stuff...what's not to like about the man? Sure I wanted to get a 9.8 copy, but dude! Look at that head sketch! Andy Kubert clearly stole a page straight out of Mark Texeira's "how to sign comics" manual; its incredible how detailed his sketch is. Add in the perfect placement and there was no way I was leaving this one on the shelf.
