Owner's Description
Issue #23 introduces a rather unique foe, the Tattooed Man, who is a sailor whose tattoos become reality once he touches them. He obtained his powers one day while breaking into a science lab and finding a special ink that turns whatever is drawn with it into reality. After defeating Green Lantern when he attempts to stop a robbery in their first encounter, GL manages to anticipate the Tattooed Man’s maneuvers and is able to catch the Tattooed Man and turn him over to the police.
Our 9.8 is the single highest graded copy as of May 2020. We acquired it from Pedigree Comics in February 2019.
As an aside, our run from #17-23 is probably our best in any collection, as we have the single highest graded #17, #18, #19, #22 and #23, 1/2 highest graded #20s, and both highest graded #21s. Unfortunately, the run comes to a screaming halt with #24.
