Owner's Description

Issue #24 features the origin and first appearance of the Shark. In the plot, a nuclear test causes a shark to mutate into a highly evolved humanoid shark form. The Shark becoming more and more intelligent begins telepathically seeking prey until it learns of Hal Jordan and his secret identity as the Green Lantern and sends a telepathic message challenging him.

Rushing to charge his power ring, Green Lantern falls right into the Shark's trap, and is suddenly transported into a room that's completely yellow. The Shark appears and warns Green Lantern that he has sealed Coast City in a giant dome that will remain unless the Green Lantern can defeat him. Realizing the Shark's weakness is the cold, GL uses his power ring to create a giant ice maker and knocks out the creature, then uses his power ring to change the Shark back to it's original form and puts him in the local aquarium.

Issue #24 is undoubtedly the toughest book in this run to find in a high grade because of its black cover, which exposes all faults. This 9.2 is one of the top three in the census with a single 9.6, the Pacific Coast copy, ranked higher. We acquired this copy on 12/13/2017 by making an offer to the owner on the Heritage Exchange.

Oh, BTW, if you have the PC 9.6 of this one and would like to pocket a nice profit, please drop us a line thru CGC.
