*I created this set in 2015- its taken 5 years and I am considering myself done with my journey. There is a Romanian #1, a Denmark GameStop #1, and a Spanish book that don't own- I do not plan to try and acquire them. I have the Argentinian third print on the way (I now have all 4 of the Argentina reprints)- My Wine Variant is at the CGC-- This is it, the end is near.
I have been chasing down this one particular comic for 5 years- across 14 countries-
I was gifted with solid guidance from Ryan, Pietro, the folks at the CGC, and Image/Skybound Publishers.
So I decided to pay my respects and cook up a homage cover of my own-
Everything major on the cover is right where it is supposed to be- the awning, the sidewalk, the storefront windows, Ricks socks are exactly where his feet are on the original cover- the rainbow floor is stolen from the Silver-Surfer #4 cover--the rest of the cover is of my own design, filled with easter eggs and fish (the real cover is hanging in the window)
Collecting this book over the years has probably saved my life. and the lives of others.
I picked the issue #192 blank because it is the issue with Ricks death- (issue 100 blanks are the best to draw on) and the neato CGC label would just "Rick" it up even more.
I waited until I was close to finished with this set before I started on this cover- I figured it would be the swan song of the set- BUT-- I now have 2 more homages on the way--so I guess its never really over.
