Owner's Description
1st appearance of Guy Gardner. Origin of Green Lantern retold. Nice green cover featuring a character that rocked the 90's but 1st appeared in the 60's. A wise cracking, sure of himself goof, that now has the power of the Green Lantern. This White Page copy I believe is presentable and perfect for my collection! This iteration of the Green Lantern splattered the 80's to 90's by keeping attitude. The cover of this issue can somewhat show the eventual character flaws. That "go to" rambunctious spirit sometimes proved overconfident, Guy Gardner called it his charm. Still, unwilling as he was to ask for "help" in situations, he got as good as he gave. What a scrapper! An underdog in this world is more than meets the eye but is still usually rooted for like a companion or a teammate. Those stripes get earned one way or another in the end with good writing and good dependable reliance!
Those were the days before the reign of Gardner. Yes, an arrow will pierce his side and heel, he looks the hero here though.
Complete with a back cover picture of some DC cards, that show a bit of the goofy side to the Gardner, who keeps the repertoire unstifled and measured with a sense of level headedness. Many will come after, but the "guy" seeks his own leading role! And a similar #48 with Kyle Renner of the Green Lantern Corps. taking up the mantle in modern times, but those are the characters when a "guardian" of sorts is regulated in the universe. Someone, somewhere, there is to be a Green Lantern!
Grader Notes:
light cover tanning;
light staining to cover;
moderate creasing to cover;
moderate spine stress lines to cover;
wrap 8 detached bottom staple.
