J. Scott Campbell Cover 9.8 another addition showing off his artistic style. Beautiful presenting in lingerie, Elephantmen is back with Campbell trying again to snag the attention of readers! The "this is going to hurt" tagline on the cover is further proof that this series can be over the top. I'm not sure if it all relates to the Elephantmen themselves, as the stories try to be more endearing between the covers. Still, altogether the package is a hook and keeps the buyers coming back. They gave it a try and lasted for quite a while on the stands; although, the Campbell covers are the ones that keep the most interest in the Elephantmen series. Highly dramatized within the pages, that even the covers are almost standalone pin-ups. Campbell has since remarked verbally with CGC in-house signings that he is constantly learning, and or, always going through different "stages" in the way he draws. To collaborate and make it new!
Complete with a back cover picture of the prescreen, actual screen, in the theater when seeing the Halloween number one! That was the first in the trilogy of films and the back cover pictures for this set. It was an eerie good time, and the first I had seen the franchise in theaters. Given age, these were a nice kind of introduction, and yet, it was years before it got wrapped up, the horror!
