Nice 1st Bane. A Half Price Books find and of course I had their coupon. After sending it for grading it played on me whether it was a good purchase, but with that cover and villain I deemed it worth it! Bane is the existence of the Bats, the evil that can take a toll in brute force. Sometimes people take that personally. I love Bane, and although the movies never seemed, in my opinion, to do him justice, the animated series more than got it right and fed off the comics very well. Those stories, although mostly splashes and fight scenes, were a fun read and made it personable to the character of "The Batman!" A pressable defect to be sure! Bane is seen as smart sometimes, and sometimes the brute mentality wins over. Serum can have that effect on people, and people's views of the overly muscular is a trait that is sometimes cliche!
Complete with a back cover picture of the Batman issue, where Bane breaks the Bat's Back! A Newsstand back breaker of an issue but picked up at an estate sale to read! I had to come away with something, even for $2, and it is sequential art inside to describe the horrendous taming! Not to mince words, it is only the thoughts written to read, as Batman calculates attack moves, but only to prove himself defenseless.
