Comiclink win December 2020. Ok, so it is tied for HIGHEST GRADED on the CGC census with two other books. It is also a PACIFIC COAST pedigree book. On top of that, it is the VERY FIRST Batman Team-up in the run. So, what am I trying to say? This is a KEY issue...and this copy is very expensive!!! It is an upgrade on a 9.4 I had owned previously.
Wanting to capitalize on the popularity of the Batman TV Series, the book would now feature more and more Batman team-ups until he became a regular of the title starting with #74.
As I write this, I am still short issues #56-#57. B&B#56 (Flash/Martian Manhunter) is one where it has been available to me in 9.6 a couple times, but because of different reasons, I didn't end up going after or winning either of them. A little frustrating, actually. B&B#57 I did go after pretty hard, especially the 9.8 that came available in the CL November 2020 auction, but I was the underbidder on the winning $9,300!!! bid. Looking back, sometimes you look at the prices and ask "well, why not?". However, most times it has come down to me wanting (and getting) other books more at that time. Throughout all of the 2010's, Brave and the Bold was not my primary collecting focus - Justice League of America was, so that title ALWAYS was the priority.
I did acquire a non-CGC B&B#58 9.6. I've been considering getting it re-certified by CGC sometime in the near future.
