The Heritage August 2021 auction was a big day for Brave and the Bold upgrades for me, as I ended up winning 8 of 9 books I targeted. In fact, that was probably a couple more than I really intended on actually coming home with, as the final invoice total was a little more than I was planning. Oh well, boo hoo, poor me.
In another example (see B&B#41) of a poorly timed prior purchase, I had JUST won a CGC 9.4 copy in the April 2021 Comiclink auction (from the Federal Hill Collection). In addition, I also owned a non-CGC graded 9.6 copy of this book.
However, this copy is a PACIFIC COAST pedigree copy, tied with only two others for HIGHEST GRADED on the CGC Census, so I had to go after it. My reserve bid held up by a few hundred dollars and I ended up adding the first of two Pacific Coast books in the auction that day. This was a nice win because I’d had my chance at one of the other CGC 9.6's out there a few times in the last few years, but with no luck until now!
This issue caps a quick two issue run for Metamorpho in the series - although he will return in just 8 more issues.
