___________________________________________________________

During the time in which the comic book market was taking a downward spiral, from 1990-1992, Marvel Comics decided to publish Second Printings of various issues within dozens of titles, in a desperate effort to promote collectability and boost sales. To make the second printings stand out from their original first printings, the front cover backgrounds were often printed with either silver or gold metallic ink. With that being said, ASM #362 Second Printing sports the Silver Metallic Ink Cover and looks pretty awesome when paired together with the first printing!

In terms of the Second Printings within the Amazing Spider-Man title, the following issues were published in chronological order: ASM #361 (4/92), ASM #362 (5/92), ASM #265 (6/92) and ASM #101 (9/92). Notice that the only two ASM issues that have a second printing published within the same month/year as their first printing counterparts are issues #361 and #362! Therefore, the second printings for ASM #361-#362 tend to hold more value than the second printings for ASM #101 and ASM #265, primarily because their original first printings were published in October of 1971 and in June of 1985 respectively.

Although ASM #362 Second Printing is not considered rare, as the combined total of Universal 9.6 and 9.8 copies equals more than half the entire population on the CGC Census, this particular 9.8 copy is exceptional because it is PERFECTLY WRAPPED and CENTERED and contains PERFECT WHITE PAGES!

Furthermore, this awesome copy was signed by famed cover artist Mark Bagley on July 15, 2020! His signature placement is superb, as it was meticulously written within the middle of the explosion-like area, which radiates the background in glossy silver metallic ink! Therefore, the signature does not take away from the aesthetics of the beautiful cover art, and it truly is a phenomenal looking copy!

In closing, I purchased this pristine beauty from Heritage Auctions in April of 2021, and I’m super proud to showcase this immaculate copy in Arachnophobia!

Happy Collecting & Enjoy the Hunt!
