Amazing Spider-Man #346 features a classic Erik Larsen & Randy Emberlin Venom cover!
Overstreet 2023 NM- 9.2 value = $40.
According to the CGC Census Report as of Tuesday, August 22, 2023, out of a total of 1,669 Universal copies graded, 402 copies were graded in 9.8 with 0 copies graded higher!
With these statistics in mind, this represents a rarity factor of 24.09% of the total population.

This is by far one of my favorite early Venom covers within the Amazing Spider-Man title! As a matter of fact, this is only Venom’s 8th cover appearance in the history of comics!
Featured here is a close-up view of Venom’s vicious facial profile, which includes special emphasis on his ferocious fangs dripping with green venom and his big pink tongue stretched out! Furthermore, Spider-Man’s reflection is captured within Venom’s huge fiery-shaped white eyes; where we see Spidey throwing up his hands in front of his face as if he is frightened! The jet black background really makes the red, white and lime green colors POP, and the awesome caption at the top makes good use of alliteration and puts the exclamation mark on this classic cover: V IS FOR VILE, VENGEANCE, AND VENOM!
Moreover, Venom’s evolution from villain to antihero has taken deep roots amongst avid readers, which in turn, has increased Venom’s fan base throughout mainstream pop culture. With the success of Venom (2018) and the highly anticipated Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which is scheduled to premiere on October 15, 2021, demand for Venom’s earliest cover appearances will only continue to rise to new heights!
Although ASM #346 is not considered rare, as the combined total of Universal 9.6 and 9.8 copies equals more than half the total population on the CGC Census, this particular 9.8 copy is exceptional because it is PERFECTLY WRAPPED and CENTERED and contains PERFECT WHITE PAGES!
In addition, the book is perfectly cut, the staple placement is excellent and the color saturation is deep and bright as if it was printed yesterday! Also, as an added bonus, the limited edition NYC skyline Spider-Man label looks really sharp and enhances the book’s overall presentation!
In closing, I purchased this pristine beauty from few_and_far (via eBay) in May of 2021! The transaction and communication went extremely well and I’m proud to showcase this immaculate copy in Arachnophobia!
