1:100 ratio (?) RRP cover. Some of these half color - half sketch covers work pretty good, with Alex Ross' being the best. But damn, this one does not work for me at all. With the dinosaur all just line drawn, it has no mass in the image - no weight bearing down on Sonja. And it's that weightiness that makes the standard cover image work, along with the dark of the dino's underbelly. Here - well, it's hard to tell even what the image is, if you don't have cover 5A to compare it to, it just looks weird. Given that cover 5A isn't absolutely awesome, what we ended up with for an RRP cover was meh.
Overall? Confusing and unsatisfying. I wouldn't have purchased this issue based on the cover art, and I certainly didn't pay a premium for it at the time it was issued.
