Owner's Description
Yellow Label Signature Series: CGC 9.8 WP Signed By: Joe Madureira, Tom DeFalco, Rodney Ramos, Danny Fingeroth, and Ann Nocenti.
Located: Bradenton, Florida
Special Thanks to eBayer: piersonite2012
After all my research in the quest for the absolute best Spectacular Spider-Man Series, I stumbled upon this book on eBay. I thought I knew of every single CGC 9.8 WP signed copy (including who signed them). Yet somehow this one slipped through my fingers. When searching the CGC Census issue #213 in any variant does not appear to have ANY signature series 9.8 examples. Yet this one is certainly one? Check the Certification Number and it is indeed a SS 9.8. So, at any rate, here it is! Thank you piersonite2012 for the pleasant surprise!
Blue Label Place holder: CGC 9.6 WP Game Pro Edition.

Story: "Typhoid Attack"
Part 1 of 2.
Script by Ann Nocenti. Pencils by James Fry. Inks by Sal Buscema and Rodney Ramos. Cover by Joe Madureira and Cam Smith. On assignment for the Daily Bugle, Peter Parker photographs a bloody crime scene inside a rundown motel. While the police are investigating the murder, Peter notices a fraught and homeless young woman named Mary in the room. Apparently she witnessed the crime and is now suffering an emotional breakdown. Feeling sympathetic towards Mary, Aunt May's nephew invites her to have dinner at his home. That sounds like a wonderful idea, provided that Mary isn't some kind of crazy serial killer or something! Oh no! Can the web-slinger retract that invitation? Unfortunately, it's too late by the time Mary Jane answers the door…and Typhoid Mary walks in! Will the spectacular one be able to contain the typhoid outbreak…before it becomes a bloody (Mary) mess?
This book has FOUR variations, and THREE spots in this set.
1. Polybagged Version. Direct Edition and Newsstand Edition
(Note: The polybagged version includes an animation cell (6-1/2 x 10) featuring Peter Parker changing into his costume; and also, a 16-page insert titled "Work in Progress" which details the making of the Spider-Man animated series for television.) 32 pages Cover price $2.95.
2. Direct Edition, White Cover with cover price in the issue number field. Price $1.50.
3. Game Pro Edition, this version of issue #213 came free with GamePro Magazine #7 White cover and pricing was omitted from the issue number field. The UPC was replaced with a black-and-white reduction of Todd McFarlane's cover to Amazing Spider-Man (Marvel, 1963 series) #301. This is a difficult variant to find in high grade.
