Issue #44 features a reprint of Issue #1. This book is almost impossible to find in any grade as only seven copies have ever been certified by CGC. Our WP 9.8 is tied with one other copy owned by my friend, Wxman Slaw, which will most likely never be available, so it represented the only option to acquired a 9.8 of the one, barring CGC certifying more.
I had a chance to buy this book at auction a couple of years ago, but at the time I needed 6-8 books to finish this set, so I set a reasonable limit. But fast forward a couple of years and needing just two books to finish this set, I decided to buy it off the Heritage Exchange for more than twice the price. Crazy, I know, but I set a goal to finish this set and, as I said, this book is just impossible. I acquired the book in October 2024. Now I just need a nice issue #47 and to upgrade Showcase #39 and MM #27 and we are done.
