Owner's Description
1st appearance of Kitty Pryde, the White Queen (Emma Frost) & Sebastian Shaw. Mastermind appearance. Chris Claremont story. John Byrne & Terry Austin cover & art. Some mutants are showing up on the Cerebro frequencies! While Jean and Scott are having somewhat relationship issues that snaps her back to reality. Wolverine is becoming hard trained by Xavier and much like he did with the original members, while Cyclops (Scott) feels it is too much, too soon. Xavier says this proves Scott's failure in leadership, while the X-men also go to seek out and invite the new mutants to the school. Namely Kitty Pryde who is young enough to enjoy an ice cream shake and become friends immediately with Ororo Munroe who is the Storm! Meanwhile, the Hellfire Club has been causing Jean, who is the Phoenix, to have hallucinations, which is not who the X-men thought was responsible. i.e. Proteus.
Kitty Pryde goes on to become Shadow Cat, but the same as Rogue, with seemingly some limited engagements in plot devices.
Complete with a back cover picture of the White Queen from Adam Hughes titled Biggest Hits Sketch Book! The picture on the left of the page in the back cover picture, ahem, was even a Sideshow Statue with a cape dropping and everything! Very striking as is most Hughes, but those are some ideas that are hard to think of consistently. He, however, has been able to and daring enough to "go there" with a bit of quality to make it worth it to go there.
Grader Notes;
very small crease right top of front cover breaks color.
