"Santa Claus The Movie" adaptation.
Marvel Super Special issue 39 featured the adaptation of the Santa Claus the Movie from 1985.
The film was produced by Alexander and Ilya Salkind (who also produced the 1st three Christopher Reeve Superman movies). It was directed by Jeannot Szwarc (who also directed Jaws 2, Somewhere in Time and Supergirl the movie). The film starred David Huddleston as Santa Claus, Dudley Moore as Patch the elf and John Lithgow as B.Z. as a big business character.
The film was an origin story of Santa Claus that began in 14th century (which implied a different origin from the Saint Nicholas of 270 AD). Most of the film occurred in the 1980s.
The adaptation was written by Sid Jacobson with interior art by Frank Springer and cover art by Thomas Palmer Sr. (Known better as Tom Palmer).
