1:1 ratio cover by Kevin Nowlan. For an artist with so much work to his name, Kevin really isn't someone whose art I am familiar with. Given how poorly this cover image resonates with me, I can understand why. Sonja looks skinny and undermuscled - there's something playful about her pose, which is grossly inappropriate, she is a very serious character.
It is just wrong. I very much didn't buy this cover from when it was released - I got the Sean Chen sketch cover. And there's nothing about this cover which would entice me to buy this book.
Maybe this cover works for someone - and that's cool - but it doesn't work for me.
