"Mr. Tawny Loses Faith In Mankind"
(Script) Otto Binder
(Pencil/Inks C.C. Beck

Mr. Tawny sells his name and likeness to a manufacturer named Mr. Twister who aggressively markets his products using Tawny's face. Hilariously one of the products is a breakfast cereal with Tawny saying, 'It's Great'. This is 2 years before Tony the Tiger began Kellogg's Frosted Flakes with the "They're Grrreat' tagline. Captain Marvel tries the cereal and discovers they are literally sawdust and the people who bought the product turn on Mr. Tawny. Later Captain Marvel discovers that the Tawny toys are just old doornobs. When Tawny discovers that the Tawny soda is just colored water he goes into a rage and attacks the salespeople. Tawny is arrested as an accomplice in the swindle and Captain Marvel encourages the police to take him in. Thinking Tawny has taken the fall Mr. Twister returns to hatch a new swindle only to get caught by Captain Marvel and put in jail as Tawny is released. At the end of the story it is revealed that Mr. Tawny has been given a first name of 'Tawky' following a contest for readers.

"The Big Balloon Race Around the World"
(Script) William Woolfolk

Billy Batson broadcasts from the basket of Ebenezer Hawkins who's trying to win $50,000 in prize money in a balloon race around the world. Unfortunately one other racer decides to use unscrupulous methods to win but Captain Marvel protects Hawkins from peril. Naturally Ebenezer wins with Cap's protection and receives the prize money as well as validation for his deceased friend Jerome Vinnert who predicted that balloons would overtake planes as the chief means of transportation *ahem*. My favorite part is how Ebenezer kept falling asleep whenever danger struck giving Billy the chance to change to Captain Marvel.

"The Empty City"
(Script) Otto Binder

Captain Marvel needs $10,000 for a children's charity so he enters a contest to design a "unique and sensational" building. Cap uses the Rock of Eternity to travel forward to 2449 AD to crib some future building designs. He finds a huge domed city but huge guns extend from panels and begin immediately attacking. He forces his way in but discovers the future city completely empty of people. It turns out the collective city decided to take a back to nature sabbatical but when they tried to return the cities automated defenses forced them away. Cap busts the defenses to allow the people back in the city and then uses some future designs to win the contest which seems like somewhat of a cheat.

9 Page Captain Marvel Story
"Never Trouble Trouble"
(Script) William Woolfolk

After saving a trolley car full of people Captain Marvel is scolded by a grumpy old man who's wandering by who accuses Cap of being a busybody. Later Billy Batson slips on a wet floor and slips smashing an expensive chandelier being hung at station WHIZ. From then on Billy and Captain seem to create trouble with everything they do. Things go so bad that Cap ends up in jail where Mr. Trouble wanders by mocking him. Turns out the grumpy old man controls all trouble in the world and is tired of Cap saving the day. Cap turns the tables on Mr. Trouble playing a series of practical jokes under Mr. Trouble begs him to stop making him trouble.
