"Marked for Murder!"

Small-time mobster Eric Slaughter is contracted to kill Daredevil for $500,000 by a man identified as "Mr. Pondexter". Slaughter agrees to the contract and the next day, sends some of his thugs to Murdock and Nelson's Storefront. They want them to deliver a message to Daredevil, since he has an arrangement with them. Daredevil is to meet Mr. Slaughter tonight at midnight on pier 42 otherwise they will be back.

To avoid any further threats against his partner, Daredevil complies with the mobster's wishes. Daredevil knows this is a trap and scans the area upon arrival, finding all the hidden assassins. He then attacks them all, attempting to learn who has put the contract out on him. One by one he knocks each of Slaughter's henchmen out when they refuse to provide the information he wants.

Before Daredevil can interrogate the last criminal, he is killed by Pondexter aka Bullseye before he can identify him. Bullseye hired Slaughter knowing that he couldn't kill Daredevil; his goal was to film Daredevil so that his movements can be recorded and studied later. He plans to use this as part of his revenge campaign.

At the end of this story is a one page feature entitled "Daredevil's Billy Club". It provides information on the crimefighter's notorious weapon. For the first time, more emphasis is given on the abililty of Daredevil to use his weapon as a projectile.

Featuring the return of the criminal "Turk" in this issue. He will be a recurring character and annoying nemesis of Daredevil for years to come. Issue #69 is his first appearance? See the top panel at the right.
