Yet another Sienkiewicz signed copy! Cover looks good with the yellow label, too.

And yet another boooooring first page, so here's the one showing Magik teleporting the New Mutants, The Prof, Rogue, Father Bowen, and Cloak and Dagger to Limbo!

Story Title: The Only Thing to Fear...

Summary:

Tyrone and Tandy have shown up at Father Bowen's church to help Bobby and Rahne with their problem, which is the powers of Cloak and Dagger being thrust upon them with life threatening consequences.

Tyrone snaps at Tandy because of his fear of becoming Cloak again. Prof X, while planning with the New Mutants, has a psychic conversation with Tyrone about his fears and ultimately convinces him to face his fears and accept what needs to be done.

Then Prof X tells Illyana to transport them all to Limbo, because he has come up with a plan. In Limbo, Prof X links his mind with Rogue just enough to control her powers so that when she touches Rahne and Bobby, she only absorbs the powers of Cloak and Dagger from them into herself.

After a simple touching of Rahne and a struggle to touch Bobby, who almost kills Tyrone, Rogue has both elements of Cloak and Dagger within her, just as Illyana did in the last issue.

At this point, Prof X has Illyana use her soul sword to perform another exorcism to put Cloak And Dagger back into Tyrone and Tandy, and even though Illyana feels it is unfair to them, she knows there is no other choice.

In the process, Prof X witnesses Illyana's newfound armor and realizes he needs to work with Illyana on realizing who and what she really is.

Ultimately the plan works and Tyrone and Tandy once again become Cloak and Dagger, and after an offer from a Prof X for them to join him at the school to help determine and control their powers, they decline, citing his needed attention to his current students and their desire to continue to help the homeless children of the streets.

Later on, while the team rests from their efforts, Cloak and Dagger are back on the streets, helping another couple of kids from being taken advantage of by a street drug dealer. After stopping him, Dagger asks Cloak if he thinks they make a difference.

Cloak says that Prof X and the New Mutants have shown him that it's the effort to try that counts, and that while they have the powers to do something about it, they should do exactly that...

Personal Notes:

This was one of those issues that provided action in the battle to save Rahne and Bobby. But it was the conversations and revelations brought about by the New Mutants and Prof X that really gave me pause and insight.

Understanding your role in life and accepting it for what it is and your abilities and gifts that help make a difference are what's important.

While it can be scary at times, it's how we cope with those challenges that ultimately develops us into who we were meant to be in this life.
