Story Title: Playing God

Synopsis: Celebrating his own birthday, Warp Savant, a new mutant with the ability to transport objects and people into his own subconsciousness, attacks Cape Citadel. After he has defeated and destroyed most of the military stationed at the base, the X-Men step in to fight the villain, but Wolverine and Jean end up in Savant's mind too. While Cyclops and Archangel defeat him with long-range attacks (optic beams and an EMP pulse gun), the other two believe to be dying in Warp‘s mind. Wolverine, who noticed that Jean‘s marriage is already under a strain, deeply kisses his secret love, but instead of ending up dead they emerge back in the real world. After Savant escapes by using his power on himself, Jean pretends to remember nothing of the incident.
