Owner's Description

The Set: As of this writing, I have had seven Matt Wagner signed books completed. 27, 30, and 34 signed on 1/25/14, and 25, 28, 29, and 32 signed AND sketched on 9/5/14.

The Book: This book was purchased, handled by Sean, witnessed by MSchmidt, and pressed by Matt Nelson.

The Cover: Another classic "Daigoro in Danger" cover, I stand by the assertion that Matt Wagner held his own against the considerable talents of Frank Miller and Bill Sienkiewicz. Both the duel between Itto and his opponent and Daigoro's precarious position are in the background, while fully half of the cover is given to a foreground crimson koi and Wagner's personal kanji as well as some unknown to me writing.

I mentioned to Sean how cool it would be to get Wagner's kanji signature, and he was gung-ho on the idea. Many thanks to MSchmidt for making it happen. I understand Wagner was tickled and bemused by the request and had to look at the cover to remember how to write it again, so many years later.

The Story: "Attacked in the frigid wilds of Japan, Lone Wolf must battle a vengeful widow, while Daigoro's life is in danger."

Second Photo: See the note on issue 26 for the full explanation on these licensed Lone Wolf and Cub postcards.

I do have one comment and one question.

The comment is this: The postcard in which Itto is being tortured by repeated dunking/drowning was the top postcard, and therefore the only visible postcard in this package.

The question is this: Really?
