Set Description:
Thrilling Comics was published by Standard Comics during the Golden Age, the title ran for eighty issues before folding, the issues all have wonderful cover art by the greatest illustrator of the WWII era, Alex Schomburg. He pretty much single-handedly set the standard for the superhero vs. Nazi motif that dominated the comic book market during those dark days, influencing the next generation of artists, particularly Jack Kirby, who would, in turn, revolutionize the art form for future generations. Just collecting the issues with the Commando Cubs. Issues 36-52, 55-65. I fell in love with this series after I saw what some of the the other Standard series were being priced at. It seemed that this series was about half the price of say, Exciting Comics, and the covers were just as good. Update: I have begun buying issues without the Cubs in them. I just could not pass up some of the good buys that are out there on this series. (Have #73- CBCS-5.5 OW)
