Here he comes...Deadpool "Wade" Wilson!!! Errr...Wade "Deadpool" Wilson!!!
For the longest time Deadpool was always on the periphery of my interest. I knew he always had a cult following and would cross paths with my guy Wolverine every so often, but he was never one of my main collecting interests. So why did I finally splurge on his first appearance near the height of Deadpool mania? In 9.8. Signed in a perfect spot by co-writer and artist Rob Liefeld in silver ink on 7/22/2016. One simple reason -- I saw the freakin' movie!
And holy crap was it hysterical. Count me in.
BUT...as you'll notice, this isn't that copy. You may be asking, "Why Matt, what gives? Weren't you happy with that copy?" To which I would reply, 'Why yes I was.' But then Rich Henn came a calling one day with his fancy new books, and the copy you see pictured happened to be one of them. What sets this one apart from your run of the mill SS 9.8 copy? Rob Liefeld's artist signature. How often do you see that?
So yeah, an upgrading I will go! This copy was signed in just about the perfect spots by the multi-time aforementioned artist/writer Rob Liefeld on 6/3/2017 and co-writer Fabian Nicieza on 6/18/2017.
