A lower grade example but it is still a fabulous copy from 1939. And with the comic appearance of Ripley's Believe it or Not beginning in this issue, it makes it even cooler.

This cover is the reason, I love Ultra-Man aka Gary Concord. This is his first appearance and I can just imagine kids of 1939 seeing this cover and going crazy over it. Well okay maybe not as he appeared in full figure on just three covers. But I am a fan nonetheless.

How much more Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon can you get on this second Ultra-Man cover. I love the concentric bulls-eye backdrop to the action. And who couldn't love that helmet atop Gary's pate. This is a scarce issue according to many reference sources.

The third Ultra-Man cover and a wild one at that. Those helmets on the space goons are scary enough - I wonder what they are breathing out of those tanks. And their goggles - they look more like space welders than bad guys. But who cares - it has Ultra- Man on the cover and that makes it cool!
