This Star Wars comic book series was published by Marvel Comics from 12/4/1977 to 27/5/1986. It features the classic Star Wars characters including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2. The first six issues adapt the May 1977 film Star Wars IV - A New Hope. The series chronicles the subsequent adventures in 101 further issues (107 total) and three annuals, including a six-issue adaptation of the 1980 sequel film The Empire Strikes Back in 1980–1981.
