Set Description:

If you collect Wizard Magazines and if you were into reading about everything involved with comics and memorabilia or modern pop culture , let me ask.... Did you ever walk into your local comic shop or book store or magazine stand and ask the attendant for the current copy of "Wizard:The Guide To Comics "? Or "Wizard: The Comics Magazine "?
Pretty sure the answer to that is no.
Infact I'm about 99.9998% sure that no one ever did that.
"The Guide To Comics " is a descriptive , that was added for God knows why , but it was on the very first copy.
It was on all the covers up to #75 ,
then it changed to "The Comics Magazine ".
And that went on up to #176.
Then it changed again , to...
"The Magazine Of Comics,Entertainment And Pop Culture "
FYI... not one single copy of this magazine
has been graded and encapsulated
above the number 176 , with the name
"Wizard:
The Magazine Of Comics, Entertainment And Pop Culture"
NOT ONE

Now let's back up a bit. At some point , someone at CGC figured that someone else might be a collector of these so they created a registry set for Wizard Magazine. If you look down the list of books you'll see that it runs from #s 0 through 235. The person who did this , I'm guessing , did it instinctively , knowing that it's just "Wizard ". They may have even been a fan of the magazine back in the day ,
who knows.

So anyway , I feel like I'm dragging this out too much but I think I know where it all went wrong. Someone had a copy of Wizard # 134 and decided to take it to a show to get a Jim Lee signature. Next thing you know , now you've got a Wizard: The Comics Magazine #134 Lee Variant Cover. When before this , everyone who graded one of these books , knew that it was just Wizard. So then this person wanted to add this book to their registry set and now we've got a mess. Because they maybe didn't want to rock the boat or whatever. Happy to have a copy with a Jim Lee signature on it. Should have just been Wizard #134 , with the art comments to the side "Jim Lee Cover " By the way , I own one of these myself but I refuse to add it to the set.
Check out my photos for #55

I hope that anyone who gets one
of these graded , is lucky enough
to get a grader who
understands that it's just Wizard.

One more thing. Does anyone know
what Wizard Pub is?
Google it. You'll find an
interesting page of stuff
"That isn't interesting "
Because it isn't
an old English bar where wizards hang out.
Wizard Press , however , was the publishing company
that put these out.
