Detective Comics 472: Classic cover, classic story (no more need be said).
Well, perhaps a bit more. I purchased the CGC graded 9.6 copy you see before you from Mr. Ghost Town, a fellow CGC Board member, and the transaction could not have been smoother.
Detective Comics 472 has a cover that only looks better every time I look at it. The story only gets better as well; I wish they could all be as good.
I own a few-more than two, less than 6 (?)-original owner copies of this book but have not the slightest idea in which acid free comic book box they are in because, well, I used to think that I did not need to list the books I owned or their exact "box" location because I would remember. Can you guess what happened?
Keeper, until I locate a typical CGC graded 9.8 copy [the description of my CGC graded 9.4 read:although this early universal label beauty is as perfect as perfect can be. (Please see image number two)].
Issue Credits (as per the CGC Universal Label):
Steve Englehart story
Marshall Rogers and Terry Austin cover and art
Issue Note (as per the CGC Universal Label):
"Death" of Hugo Strange.

Another stunning cover in this run with the Joker making life, to say the least, interesting for the Batman.
The story in this issue, as in Detective Comics 475, is among the best you will find in comic books; tense, exiting, original.
Keeper, until I locate a typical CGC graded 9.8 copy.
