Great looking book. Paid a bit much at ComicLink but it replaces a 7.5 I felt I needed to up-grade from. Featuring: "Dr. Meade's Last War"; "The Guardian Planet"; "Encounter in Space!"; "So Small"; 1-page untitled Li'l Wise Guy story; and the 2-page text story "Another Chance From Life"! 36 pages, full color. Dick Giordano, associated so closely with DC over the past few decades, contributes an eye-catching cover for this issue. This is the only copy of issue #3 that CGC has certified to date. Overstreet 2003 VF 8.0 value = $55; VF/NM 9.0 value = $73.
I love everything about this cover, to bad the story was so lame. This is a White Mountain pedigree book. The last panel of this book shows how every comic book should end, with love. This was a Heritage eBay auction purchase.

Do not like the layout of this cover, everything looks to be out of proportion. The title seems to small, the Comics Code box seems to big, the Disneyland ad seems out of place, the story title looks to big for the bottom of the page, and the white cover is the worst. Okay, that may be a little harsh but I do love the panel on the first page. Typical Charlton art work having the word ROCKET on the rocket. Also like how Steve put his last name on the piece of space debris.

Steve Ditko cover and one story. Both of the inside covers are blank, couldn't find anyone to buy an ad for there I guess. Nice, that may be the wrong word, picture of Hitler on the first page. Another Heritage pick-up for $105, did I really pay that much for this book? Oh well, it is a Bethleham pedigree and has art work by Ditko and has a Hitler picture and is 48 years old and is a 9.0 with OW/W pages and came with the Beth. certificate, I guess it was worth it.

Nice S. Ditko cover along with some art work inside. This Bethleham book has a date stamp (May 12 1960) in the word "WAR" and came with the Beth pedegree cert. which ani't much, doesn't even list the book that goes with it.

Okay, a rather big cat floating around in space, not going to happen. I like how the artist put the space rockets ID# NOV161960 across the whole ship. Another Bethleham book. How can you go wrong with a comic that has a picture of a butt-head.

A nice little find at a Heritage auction. Kind of a creepy cover, the eye's. Back cover kind of banged up, looks like it was the top copy of a bundle that had a string wraped around it as there a couple of indents top and bottom.

Nice little find from a Heritage auction. Don't mind the pedigree markings on the cover at all. The word is that only about a third of Circle 8 pedigree comics have the 8 with a circle around it on the covers. It's always fun to compare the cover with splash page they used for the cover.

I have a hard time finding high grade issues of this series and yet this issue has 5 in 9.6 and 4 in 9.4 according to CGC. The cover and the first splash page are the same but for different colors. I wish they wouldn't put those ad banners on the covers.

First listed on eBay for $49.99 with me being the only watcher. After 3 days it disappeared only to show up the next day listed at $24.99. I put my bid in and won 7 days later. With this being one of only two graded copies I felt I needed to get in the collection as it may be long time before another came up for sale.

This issue has it all, a robot cover and a atomic bomb blast. Only in a Charlton comic would you get a atomic blast in one story and in the next the weapon of choice is an umbrella.
