I wish I had picked up a copy that had a better wrap with no white showing, but there's not a lot showing and the alignment is fairly straight. What attracted me to this copy is that there isn't any easily discernable spine stresses and there's no bindery tearing to the top edge of the front cover which I have seen on other 9.8 copies. This was the first CGC 9.8 copy I acquired for this set.

Again, cover wrap isn't exactly what I would prefer, but my main objective was to find a 9.8 copy that had a predominately purple background as there seems to be numerous permutations of blue/purple for this cover's background. I don't have any proof, but I think purple is what was probably intended. I had to buy two raw sets and roll the dice on submission hoping it would come back 9.8 Even still, there are probably copies out there with covers more purple than this one but this is probably as close as I can get.

This copy actually has the kind of cover wrap I would prefer on the others and has the added benefit having really deep pink inks in the background. This was a raw copy I purchased from Bob Storms and submitted for grading.

This is actually the first issue of this story I picked of the rack in a Savemart in Selma, CA. I almost didn't buy it as it was clear that I had already missed the previous issues in the story and there was a really bad color-breaking spine crease on that copy. I actually put it back on the rack but picked it up again as I found the artwork so compelling and the story seemed different than what I had usually seen in Batman comics. It was very important to me to get a copy that didn't have any discernable spine stresses on this tough black cover. I got this copy from Bob Storms and submitted it for grading.
