Set Description:
Skybound X #1-5
Skybound X was originally a five-comic set which celebrates 10 years of Skybound with a cavalcade of favourite creators and all-new stories of favourite series. Each issue starts with a new chapter of a serialised The Walking Dead story: Rick Grimes 2000 by Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley (which is why I collected them).
In addition, there are debuts of all-new series and characters every issue, starting with the first appearance of the most requested The Walking Dead character, Clementine, the star of the Telltale’s The Walking Dead video game series.
There are also new Ultramega and Manifest Destiny stories. On publication of the series, Skybound said "If you want to know what to expect in Skybound’s next 10 years, it all starts here!".
Skybound X #25
Skybound X returned with issue #25 on July 20, 2022. The extra-sized edition has eleven cover variants to mark Image’s 30th anniversary; by Ottley (Cover A and 1:10 Incentive), Bressan, De Felici, Smith, and Harren (x2 SDCC Exclusives); as well as x4 CVL editions with covers by Maria Wolf.
It contains four stories, each showcasing an upcoming series:
– Battle Beast is a spin-off of “Invincible,” by original creators Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley. In the original series, Battle Beast was Thokk, a fierce alien warrior who had become obsessed with battling a worthy opponent.
– The acclaimed team behind Birthright, Josh Williamson and Andrei Bressan, also reunite to kick off the new horror epic Dark Ride.
– Kroma is a fantasy story by Lorenzo De Felici (“Oblivion Song”), which revolves around the “savage and beautiful” title character.
– Finally Scurry is a post-apocalyptic fable by Mac Smith, that “tells the story of how animals battle for survival when all of humanity dies.”
Notes:
1. All my comics in this set have been graded by CGC at 9.8, with all-bar-one included into the prestigious Signature Series.
