This was another personal that my father and I picked up back in 1988. I took it to Megacon and had it graded.
Not too bad. It came back 9.2. I knew it would get OW/W pages but thought it had a shot at 9.4.
I was close though!

#1 in 9.8 WP and SS to boot!
There are currently 146 9.8 copies of this issue out there with only 10 that are Signature Series! This is one of those ten and is signed by Herb Trimpe! AWESOME!
This is currently my oldest SS comic in my collection!!!!!!

I purchased this copy raw from Mile High Comics six years ago at the same time as my Special Marvel Edition #15. This too was a beautiful copy! I felt that it would get 9.6 OW/W and wasn't disappointed!
I took it with me to the 2013 Baltimore Comic Con for Jim Starlin to sign.
There are only 8 copies in 9.8 and no copy in any grade has ever been made into SS, until now!
You are looking at the only SS copy of this issue in the world now!
This is technically the first issue of this series, even though the character Shang-Chi first appeared in two earlier issues.

I come in peace, with my anal retentive ray gun!
Wait, that's not right.
I had this beauty signed by Sal Buscema and Joe Rubinstein in Baltimore! It's not noted on the label, but Frank Miller penciled the cover and Rubinstein inked it!

I purchased this copy raw online from Mile High Comics six years ago! I've held onto it and never have really considered doing anything else with it, until I found out that Sal Buscema would be making an uber rare appearance in Baltimore!
I dragged it out, looked it over thoroughly, and determined that I would achieve a 9.2 or 9.4 before pressing. I wasn't sure how much the pressing would potentially improve it.
Well, I took it to Baltimore, had Sal sign it, submitted it and waited... and waited... and waited... see a pattern here?
The wait was worth it, however, since it came back SS 9.6 WP signed by Sal Buscema!!
So cool! I may have Romita added to it later this year at Supercon!

The first six issues of this series is the official movie adaptation from the first Star Wars movie, A New Hope. If you haven't seen the movie by now, then you must not be alive.
This is #1, which features everything in the movie from Vader's attack on Leia's ship to Luke going out into the desert to find R2D2.

Ronnylama very generously gave me this copy! While it is not a 9.8, it is currently the only graded copy I have and means the world to me since a friend gave it to me!
