BWS is a fantastic artist but his superb story-telling abilities were fully demonstrated in this series. The layers of mystery surrounding the Weapon X project and the development of the Carol Hines character drew me into this story in a way I hadn't expected.

The inerplay between Dr. Cornelius and the secret Professor heading the program was finely developed. Who was behind it all? I could not wait to find out.

The cover of a primal Logan stalking through a snowy Canadian forest was perfect. The scene of Logan killing the wolfpack remains my favorite Wolverine image to this day.

I loved "Lifedeath" but by this time I was already coming to the realization that Weapon X was going to be my favorite BWS story.

Yet another amazing cover. I loved the question about who controlled Wolverine - the professor, Dr. Cornelius, Logan? Did any of them really know what would come next? I didn't. Perfect.

A story like the origin of Wolverine deserved the very best. BWS did not disappoint. The story was gripping and the art was excellent. I couldn't wait for each next chapter. Thankfully, Marvel was publishing this title every two weeks.

Who was truly being savage I wondered as the story built toward a final confrontation between Logan and those who were cruelly experimenting on him.

Marc Silvestri was in the midst of his great run in the Wolverine series during the summer of 1991 and Marvel was already promoting the upcoming new Jim Lee X-Men title but this was the title and story that had me captured.

"I am Logan. I am a man. And you are the animal!" That is still one of my all-time favorite Wolverine quotes and it cemented this amazing story as one of my all-time favorites.

As soon as I saw the amazing wraparound cover art, I knew BWS had something special in store for the conclusion to his masterpiece and he did not disappoint. The Wolveine character is much richer because of this story. It still stands among the very best pieces of comic art and story-telling more than 20 years later.
