Purchased from Greg Reece - May 2016 - nice WHITE pages!! Only one 9.8 on the census...and as far as I know, the marketplace hasn't seen it since 2013, which was a few years before I started collecting the title. However, my copy is tied with five others for second highest graded on the census. It has white pages and is perfectly centered - show me a better B&B#75 9.6 - I dare ya!

Comiclink win - Feb 2018. A 9.8 Oakland Pedigree came to auction in February 2020, but I bailed out when the bid hit $1,800. There was certainly nothing wrong with the book, but with five 9.8's on the census, I didn't see the point in pushing the purchase price to any new heights. This book is tied with five others for second highest graded.

Ebay purchase - Oct 2018. This copy is tied with three others for HIGHEST GRADED on the CGC census. I had to pay $200 more than what another 9.8 went for in the May 2018 CL auction, but this is a Fantucchio and I felt that was warranted. It is also a more reasonable price to pay than on the #79 that went for $1,800 when there are five of those 9.8's.

Purchased from wwcomics - April 2016 - Batman/Flash team-up. Surprisingly, no CGC certified books have achieved a grading of 9.8, that makes my copy tied with seven others (as of April 2021) for HIGHEST GRADED on the census! This is a Neal Adams cover.

This book was won in the August 2021 Heritage auction, an upgrade on the CGC 9.6 I won in the September 2019 Comic Connect auction. This book was also an upgrade on my 9.4. I've kept the 9.4 too because it was signed by Neal Adams. Previously, there was a 9.8 auctioned off by CL in May 2018, but I didn't seriously go after it because in that auction I purchased my B&B#1 7.5, B&B#85 9.8 and a Star Trek Gold Key #5 9.8. Those 3 books were enough spending for that day! However, that also meant that instead of paying $1,051 I ended up paying $1,920. Smart move, Brad, smart move!
So, this book, as of August 2021, is currently tied with three others for HIGHEST GRADED on the CGC census.

This book upgraded a Pedigree Comics Auction win from August 2016 – the final book of nine I had targeted in the August 2021 Heritage Auction. Previously, I had a shot at a 9.8 in the CL auction in May 2018, but there were a PILE of HG B&B's in that auction. Quite frankly, I was caught unaware by the competition for those books. Many were highest graded and the bidding went higher than I expected it to.
So, the good news: this copy is tied with only two others for HIGHEST GRADED on the CGC Census. The bad news: the other 9.8 I let get away in May 2018 went for about half of what I paid for this one!!!! And that one was a Fantucchio (for what that is worth). To be fair, I did rank this book above a number of others in terms of my interest in acquiring in this auction, so, I was going to get pushed around on the final price a bit.

May 2018 Comiclink auction win. This Fantucchio is tied with one other copy for HIGHEST GRADED on the CGC Census.
I had attempted to win a couple 9.4's and a 9.6 over the prior few years, but I was always outbid. That was lucky, as it turns out, as it saved me from winning a 9.4, then winning a 9.6 and selling that 9.4, then winning that 9.8 and selling the 9.6...and losing $700 in the process :)
This is a key issue in the series as it is the first appearance of Green Arrow in his new costume. Neal Adams did the cover and art for this book. This change in appearance was a ground-breaking development for the character as it turns out. Denny O'Neil took the character in a totally different direction based on the character's new look. In Justice League of America #75 (I used to own a VERY nice copy!!!), Oliver Queen starts going through a personal identity crisis. Ultimately, he ends up losing his fortune and shifting his priorities to fight for the underprivileged and against the corporate status quo.
All of this was a precursor for the much heralded Green Lantern #76 where the title would start to co-star Green Arrow for close to the next 50 issues, tackling the controversial topics of the early 70's.

Comiclink win - Aug 2020. If you want a copy of this book in 9.4 or better, you are in luck. There are, to date, 43 copies in 9.4 or better! My copy is tied with two others for HIGHEST GRADED on the CGC census. There has been no issue in having chances at one of the 9.8's over the past few years, however, when I decided to get my copy, it appears others were also interested. Not a big deal, other than the price I paid for my copy was close to $1,000 more than the other 9.8's went for within a 2-3 year time-frame.
That's not so good.
This was Neal Adams' third B&B cover in a row.
Deadman would next appear in the April 1970 issue of Aquaman (#50).

Pedigree Comics auction win from August 2016.
Wait, what's this? There's a 9.9 out there? It's true, this is the earliest issue in the series to have a copy to be certified above a 9.8. That makes my copy tied with four others for second highest graded on the census! Huh, who knew?
At any rate, this book features the 1st appearance of Wildcat on Earth-One.
Neal Adams continues to pen the cover on this series.

Purchased from Greg Reece - Oct 2015 - and I overpaid (a little). Should've bargained Greg down a bit. I guess it is tied with two others for HIGHEST GRADED on the CGC census, but still...
If you want a book in 9.4 or better, you'll have no problem, with 36 copies meeting that requirement!
This was the first appearance of the Phantom Stranger in Brave and the Bold. He would show up again in just nine issues (#98) and again later on in issue #145 (December 1978).

Pedigree win - January 2017. This copy is tied for second highest graded on the census, trailing only two 9.8's. The May 2018 CL auction had a 9.8 available, but as I mentioned in other comments, there were SO MANY high quality Brave and the Bold's in that auction that I couldn't get them all, I had to pick and choose. Hence, that 9.8 went for a little under $1,000 to someone else...
This was the first appearance for Adam Strange in the series. He would appear again, much, much later in issues #161 and #190.
The story itself has been prone to some retconning subsequently, as at this point in time, Adam Strange couldn't actually come to Earth as he would've died. In the 1980's, it was established that this story actually took place on Earth-Thirty-Two. So, if you are a collector of Ear-Thirty-Two stories (and who isn't?), you'll want to grab a copy of this book.
This book ended the consecutive string of covers by Neal Adams, as Nick Cardy would do the cover for Brave and the Bold #91.

Comiclink win-November 2015. There are five 9.8's on the census...and they have been available over the past few years. I've seen one come up for auction in each of 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 - one even being a signature series. Just hasn't been a priority for me.
Kind of a strange team-up - Batman with a comic book title. Just sayin'

Heritage auction win - November 2019 - an upgrade on my previous 9.6 graded copy - tied with 1 other for HIGHEST GRADED on the census.
Neal Adams returns to do the cover once again.
The cover indicates the team-up is Batman and a mystery partner. I will not spoil it, so I will just say that he goes under the pseudonym "Kyle Morgan" and his superhero name rhymes with "Drastic Fan". Sorry, I can't tell you more than that.

April 2017 Comiclink auction win. This copy trails just three 9.8's on the census. I haven't heard a peep from any of those three books, so either I missed them or they are deep, deep, deep undercover.
Due to the size of the issue, they included a story of the Viking Prince from all the way back from issue#20. I guess strategy they had of making books bigger and just including reprints was working???
In other news, frequent title visitor, the Flash, made another appearance.
