The Obverse photo is of the comic prior to me cracking the slab and the Reverse is of the book having been signed by Neal Adams and Denny O'Neil and being turned into CGC for some CCS love prior to being sent for grading.
Cannot wait to get this one back from CGC.

*Note* Before you read below remember what you read from the last entry I put in here about the Neal Adams Variant... Yeah its the same thing, but I switched out the word sketch in the next one and changed up the CGC Census numbers. Aside from that the guy who colors the cover ran out of ink and said to himself.... Wa Lah, Sketch Variant...

Personal Touch:
The first time I ever came face to face with Neal Adams was at the Dallas Comic Con May of 2012. I had always been a huge fan of his and was able to work out a Hulk commission as well as a few signatures on some of his older and in tattered condition comics. Namely the Avengers Kree-Skrull war comics that I had read as a kid when the story-line had been reintroduced. Nothing special just had read them and thought it would be cool to have them signed and personalized to me. During this time I was able to talk to him about a number of things from his time as a kid growing up under a Military father, to his opinion on artists receiving their work back once submitted for comics, and finally on an upcoming X-Men series he would be introducing later in the year.
After kinda giving me a short breakdown of what he planned to do I made it a mission to try to go out and find a number of these and eventually build a competing Set derived around all of them being Signature Series. So far I have a total of 4 in my possession with 2 having gained a signature and 2 being 9.8 but am waiting on 4 others I had submitted through another during the Wizard World Philly that will one day come back hopefully as a 9.8 SS.
As for this one and the Adams Variant(did you see what I did there) I had Neal sign during the Wizard World Austin in 2012 and am looking forward to seeing him again come this year’s Wizard World Austin in November.
CGC Census: 20 Total for the Adams Variant listed on the Census. 13 – 9.8’s, 7 – 9.8 SS’s. Not to rare and I think I did see two on ebay not too long ago as well as 1 on Comics to Astonish.
What Had Happen In A Quick Rundown In My Own Words:
So Wolverine gets a call from an old Army buddy,
Wolverine: Burp… What’s up Bub?
Army Buddy: Hey dude, um I suck at taking care of my own kid and he’s kinda special because he blows up. Since your obviously a great father figure with your own kids could you watch mine for me.
Wolverine: I’m the best there is at babysitting others problems. No guarantee I don’t scratch him though.
Army Buddy: Sure…..good luck with that.
So after this Wolverine goes and tries to meet up with the kid and apparently cooler heads don’t prevail as the kid blows up. Holy Jeebus… Army Buddy was right. I need to call my buddy Sabertooth cause his parenting skills are way better than mine.
Wolverine: Burp… What’s up Bub?
Sabertooth: What do you want Runt?
Wolverine: So I’m setting up a Daycare service and thought you would make an amazing role model for young kids with special powers.
Sabertooth: Why should I do that?
Wolverine: Cause it’s the right thing to do. Cause we could have used someone like us when we were younger…
Sabertooth: Yeah and…?
Wolverine: Cause I’ll pay you.
Sabertooth: Throw in a modestly young girl for me to date later in the storyline and you got a deal Runt.
Wolverine: Score…
So yeah it didn’t really go down quite that way. But in some weird fashion….. it did. Enjoy
