Frank Miller has stated that this series serves as a prequel to his ‘Dark Knight Returns’ series. It features an alternate take on the meeting of a grittier Batman (Bruce Wayne) and Robin, the Boy Wonder (Dick Grayson). Characters include Superman, Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Black Canary, Green Lantern, Joker, Catwoman, and Vicki Vale.

This Complete Set includes:

- 6 CGC 9.9's (one is the single highest graded).

- Retailer Incentive Editions for #1 (signed by Jim Lee), #6, #8.

- Recalled Edition and Recalled/ Variant Cover for #10 (due to obscenities).
