The Tick! The cartoon was off the hook and full of imagination, as was the comic. Got parents involved to say, "What on earth are you watching?" Eventually they would sit right down next to you and watch with you! Taking a tip from the 80's Saturday morning cartoons, we're all whacky. Be it Bobby's world and Howie Mandel, to Eek the cat. Who also remembers Killer Green Tomatoes? Those were all the same, a "TRIP!"
What in tarnation? Spooooon! That is how we handle the Tick situation, with other infestations at the ready, the world needs an unlikely hero!
He is about the only blood sucker that is worth keeping around, however a spider comes close, too. It is not bloody between the pages, however, as the only drawings of the Tick I've seen have been illustrious in story telling of a bewildered hero seeking to tell of those said hijinks the best they know how. "SPOON!" It may take the liking of a sidekick to then get in full swing but the writing being nostalgic now in retrospect does prove the era of its time and place. Decades past and the theme of the befuddled sounds the chime of victory that believing in oneself can sometimes outsmart the villains of a society. When out thinking has its turn, however, we find ourselves laughing at those circumstances that still find us on the winning side of life. Hopefully, with a better attitude and spirit or reason to keep up the good work for the betterment.
