I loved the Star Wars films, and wanted to own #1 of the Marvel comic series.
This Star Wars comic book series was published by Marvel Comics from 12 April 1977 to 27 May 1986. It features the classic Star Wars characters including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2. The first six issues adapt the May 1977 film Star Wars IV - A New Hope. The series chronicles the subsequent adventures in 101 further issues (107 total) and three annuals, including a six-issue adaptation of the 1980 sequel film The Empire Strikes Back in 1980–1981.
