Set Description:

After Gotham City suffers a magnitude 7.6 quake, the U.S. government declares the city a "No Man's Land."

There are a few issues of significance within this saga.

Batman #567 - First appearance of Cassandra Cain
Batman: Shadow of the Bat #83 - Huntress becomes new Batgirl
Detective Comics #731 - Second appearance of Harley Quinn in DC continuity

I have a special place in my collector’s heart for No Man’s Land. After an adolescent hiatus from comic collecting I returned in 2000, not long after this epic saga concluded. As I was reacquainting myself with comics, particularly the Batman books, the No Man’s Land issues stood out to me. The vertical black and yellow banner and title logo caught in barbed-wire set these books apart while thumbing through comic shop long boxes, enticing my curiosity.

I then learned that this storyline spanned several Batman titles over almost two years, preceded by the following Batman storylines: Contagion, Cataclysm, Aftershock and Road to No Man’s Land.

Each book in this set is a book that I found raw in the wild and submitted them myself for grading, making this a unique and special set for me.

Collecting the Trade Paperbacks alone costs a small fortune; the TPBs have since been expanded to include material not published in the first printings. After I acquired the new TPB volumes, I set out to build a raw set of copies in 9.6/9.8 condition, I’m only at 30 to 40% complete.

I’m not aiming for a complete Road to No Man’s Land/No Man’s Land set in slabbed form, this would entail 113 individual comics, I’m only interested in slabbing those really neat covers, especially those noir styled painted covers from Glen Orbik!
